We know when the fronds of Areca palms are kept bushy and full, they’re perfect for creating privacy between the homes, businesses or along busy thoroughfares.

Some of our clients prefer to have their Arecas thinned out near the ground so that the smooth canes are exposed. The unique canes of Areca palms exhibit a distinct silver and green color combination and add visual texture to your landscaping.

Regular maintenance of Areca palms, which are a popular hedging palm, should include; consistent and effective irrigation, a seasonal schedule of fertilization and the monthly removal of dead fronds.

Areca palms have a moderate growth rate and are highly drought tolerant. This combination makes it perfectly suited to do well during our rainy season and our dry season.

However, if you are looking to maximize their growth and quickly get them to your desired height, you’ll want to consider ample irrigation and fertilization.
