A Staple Of Tropical Landscaping

Foxtail palms are a staple of the landscaping in Southwest Florida.

Palm City Nursery and Landscaping is one of the top growers of Foxtails. We grow them locally, on Pine Island. They are sold to retail and wholesale clients from our nursery in Cape Coral, Florida.

The single, double and triple Foxtail palms we provide to landscape professionals, landscaping contractors, as well as homeowners are native to  Northeastern Australian.

They are known to grow fast in Southwest Florida and are a go to palm when properties in Cape Coral, Fort Myers, Naples, Bonita Springs, Port Charlotte and Punta Gorda are being landscaped.

Other Tropical Palms

  • Queen Palms
  • Adonidia Palms
  • Sabal Palms

Lee, Collier and Charlotte counties along the coast are considered zone 10a. When you are planting inland, it is important to note that these zones will change to 9b as you move into the interior of the state.

Our professional installation team can answer your questions and help provide you with the right information to help you care for your beautiful Foxtail palms.

Foxtail palms grow fast when they are kept under a consistent irrigation and fertilization schedule. Our landscape team members are available to talk with you about the best fertilizer to consider in order to keep your palm trees robust.

The salt tolerance of a Foxtail is low. It will grow best when protected from sea spray.

The drought tolerance of the Foxtail is moderate and the dry winter months in Southwest Florida pose little threat to the palms health.

As a full grown tree at 30 feet in height you’ll want to be sure it’s’ been planted far enough away from power lines, your home or a building. It should be planted so that it accentuates the look of your property.
