A Tropical Landscaping Dream Palm
Sylvestris palms have many different nicknames.
The ones we hear most often are Sylvester, Silver Date Palm, and Toddy Palm.
Do you call them something different?
Palm City Nursery and Landscaping is one of the top palm growers of Sylvestris palms in Southwest Florida.
Sylvestris palms are native to India. They have adapted well to areas with sandy soils in cities like Naples, Bonita Springs, Fort Myers, Punta Gorda, Port Charlotte and Cape Coral.
The Sylvestris palm is a slow to moderate growing palm.
When Sylvestris palms are planted in a location where there is no irrigation or a consistent watering schedule, these palms will grow slowly.
If they are kept in a landscape that has an irrigation drip line that’s on a weekly watering schedule and are being fertilized during the spring, summer and fall, then Sylvestris palms will grow at a moderate pace.
Our team of experienced professionals at Palm City Nursery and Landscaping know that every commercial or residential landscaping project is different.
Some job sites may require 10’ of CT and others 3’ of CT.
